IST 755: Strategic Management of Information Resources

Students integrate and apply the knowledge they have gained to case studies, projects, and other high-level assignments, allowing them to draw from their previous courses on critical information resource management areas. The objective of this course is to apply and expand on what students have learned throughout their master’s program and work experiences to better understand the challenges of strategic management of information resources. We use texts, articles, frameworks, discussions, and other online sources to provide material on strategic management concepts, their application to information resources, and the national and global contexts in which organizations operate. We also will examine and discuss particularly important current and emerging issues that are critical to the management of information resources in large, complex organizations.
